What to expect from Early Years
Starting school is a big step, and we want you to feel confident in choosing Hamilton Academy. Our most recent Nursery Handbook and Reception Handbook are available online for an overview of what we offer.

Open Visits
We hold Open Visits for prospective parents in the Autumn Term, information is published on our homepage when applicable.

Apply for Nursery entry September 2026:
Children born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023

Children are eligible to start Hamilton Nursery the September after their third birthday. All places are funded by central government so there is no charge to parents.

We offer a choice of three different sessions, five sessions each week, during term time:

• Morning sessions, 8.45am-11.45am: Universal entitlement of 15 hours a week.
• Afternoon sessions 11.55am-3pm: Universal entitlement of 15 hours a week.
• All day sessions 8.45am-3pm: Extended entitlement for families who qualify for 30 hours of funded childcare each week.

The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 16 March 2026. After this time, places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, subject to availability.

Apply for Reception entry September 2026:
Children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022

Apply for a Reception place at Hamilton Academy starting September 2026 via the Buckinghamshire Council's website

You should apply through the online portal between 5 November 2025 and 15 January 2026, but late applications can still be made. If all 90 spaces have already been allocated your child’s name will be added to a waiting list.
