E-safety Information for Parents
Keeping children safe online is an important part of modern life. The internet offers many opportunities for learning and communication, but children need guidance to use it safely and responsibly. At school, we regularly teach pupils how to stay safe online, protect their personal information and know what to do if something worries them.
Parents and carers play a vital role in supporting children’s online safety at home. Some simple steps can make a big difference, such as:
- Using parental controls on devices, apps and broadband
- Keeping devices in shared family spaces where possible
- Setting clear screen time limits and avoiding devices in bedrooms at night
- Talking regularly with your child about what they are doing online
- Checking privacy settings on apps and games
- Making sure children know they should tell a trusted adult if something worries them online
To support families, we also send out weekly e-safety emails with short guides and advice about popular apps, games and online trends affecting children. The most relevant of these guides are listed below.
