BIG WRITE COMPETITION WINNERS  SUMMER TERM 2017

Thank you so much to all the children who took time to enter the final Big Write of the year. Despite being busy with Globetrotters, the Summer Fair and school plays, a group of dedicated writers stepped up to the challenge!  Judging the entries was as usual incredibly tough as they were all of a high standard and so unique and creative. However, the winners have now been chosen and are as follows:

  • KS1 Winner - Steven 2C
  • KS1 Runner Up - Aliza 1B
  • Lower KS2 Winner - Chika 3B
  • Upper KS2 Winner - Fintan 5B
  • Upper KS2 Runner Up - Isla 5B

I have also decided to award a special prize to two children for their consistently high standards of writing across the Big Writes this year.

Special awards go to: Kayleigh - 5B and Matthew - 6C

The children named above will receive their certificates and prizes in the whole school assembly during the last week of term.

I look forward to more Big Writes next year and till then.....

Happy Writing!

BUCKS LIBRARY READING CHALLENGE

The summer holidays are fast approaching and once again Bucks libraries have got a reading challenge awaiting all 4 - 11 year olds. This year the challenge is linked to Animal Agents (a whole host of clever creatures, ready to solve all kinds of crimes!). To take part your child simply needs to sign up at any local Bucks library from Saturday 15 July 2017.

Then they must read six books of their choice (printed books, audio books or ebooks) and collect prizes along the way. All of this is free and will help your child to reinforce and practise their reading skills over the long summer break. I hope that many Hamilton children take up this challenge and look forward to awarding those that do with house points at the start of the new academic year.

Happy Reading!
